For a few weeks in July, an Albany Branch member continued to transcribe for the Smithsonian Transcription Center. This event helps to “make historical documents and biodiversity data more accessible.” This is a very viable activity as it is completely digital and can be done at the volunteers’ convenience. Their “efforts to transcribe the Smithsonian’s historic collections helps to increase access and understanding of our heritage, our neighbors, and our world.”
