On June 11th, 2021, the Greater Temecula Valley AYLUS (GTVA) lead a class talking about the importance of recycling. This is a warm up exercise before our upcoming ” Recycle to help animals” event on Sun. 6/13/2021.

GTVA team Adora Xiao (2 hrs), Ally Negulescu (1.5 hrs), Zaiba Choudhury (1 hr), and Tonya Liu (1 hr)  started with a brief presentation on recycling. It included what recycling was, the types of recycling, the importance of recycling, and what symbols and numbers on some products meant. Participants also learned about the three Rs- Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle- as well as possible harmful chemicals in specific items and products. They then played and informational/ funny Kahoot, the winner earning bragging rights. Lastly, the class learned how to draw the recycling symbol to wrap up the meeting.

GTVA led the class to share how and what the recycling is, as well as the importance of recycling.  Our team is ready and looking forward to bring the collected recycling items to our local recycling center this Sunday. The full amount from the recycling will be donated to our local animal shelter.
