Marlboro Branch Holds a Chess Seminar on January 29th

In the month of January, the Marlboro Branch held a chess seminar as a way to provide elementary and middle schoolers with a basic introduction to the game of chess. Beginner tactics were taught, as well as opening principles and some intermediate tips and tricks to help the kids better hone their skills. The volunteers that taught at the seminar have participated in chess tournaments before and are well-versed in the different facets of the game. The seminar was a resounding success, and parents expressed their gratitude afterwards.
