Sugar Land Branch Continues International Academic Lessons 96-97

junior leader Alvin Zhou has continued to offer free lessons to Pre-K kids. We were teaching science class this week. This class based on the widely used science book at Elementary schools in Texas, and had been designed for kids from Pre-k to 1st grade. There will be 10 units, including How scientists work, Technology around us, Matter, Forces and Energy, Earth’s Resources, Weather and Seasons, Objects in the Sky, Living Things and Their Environments, Animals and Plants. Thanks for the growth of teacher team, so we can do 3 lessons each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday now.

During 2nd week of 10th unit from 1/10/2021 to 1/16/2021, Alvin organized meeting meanwhile Ethan joined as presenters. Lesson 19 had been taught by Ethan on 1/11, which finished our science classes.

Started from 1/15/2021, we started math class. This is a basic mathematics course for grade 1st and under. We will have 26 lessons in total starting from the 1/15/2021 to 3/15/2021. In these classes, we will use Primary Mathematics 1B Textbook and Workbook (Singapore Math U.S. Edition) to introduce and explain the basic concept of numbers, addition, subtraction, length, and weight. We expect that the concrete pictorial approach will enable students to encounter math in a meaningful way.

1st lesson had been taught by Alvin on 1/15/2021.
