On September 27, 2020, volunteers from the Irvine branch of AYLUS hosted its fifth science exploratory class for the fall session. We used Zoom to host the lesson, and students, consisting of elementary and middle schoolers, had a great time participating.
We answered a few questions about radar/sonar, telephones, and clocks and discussed how they worked. We taught how currents work, how do we generate energy from the Sun, wind, and water, and what simple machines we can see in real life. We also drew diagrams with labels and their respective formulas to further deepen the students understanding. At the end, most of the students had a good understanding of the application of the formulas and laws they have learned and were happy to understand how the world works! What a great success!
