The Irvine Branch of AYLUS hosted its penultimate Speech and Debate class of its Summer Learning Experience on July 26, 2020! Through Zoom, passionate teachers taught inquisitive students ranging from grades first through sixth.
This course is built on encouraging students to gain better public speaking skills, teaching them the skills of debate, and most importantly building self-confidence. Using breakout rooms to separate the grade levels, the students were split based on their preference of debate and delved deeper in that area. They played some Kahoots and spent the time reviewing for the next class where they would spar in their final debate.
