Sugar Land Branch Interviewed by City Parks & Recreation Department

The Sugar Land Branch has routinely volunteered at the Sugar Land Memorial Park Butterfly Garden for almost a year. Members started with planting the garden’s flowers and trees last year and have continued to maintain them by removing dead branches, watering, and pulling weeds etc. through the summer. The garden had attracted many butterflies and other passersby in the park. As part of the City of Sugar Land Summer Series, members were proud to be interviewed by the Parks and Recreation Department on July 23 in recognition of their consistent volunteering efforts. The members shared their volunteer experience and their views on why it is significant to put such efforts to maintain the Butterfly Garden. The department also recorded members’ pulling weeds and watering plants per routine practice. The members being interviewed were: Albon Wu, Nicole Wu, Emma Jiang and Serena Li.
