On July 15th, 2020, the Austin Branch hosted its second free, online art lesson for elementary and middle school students. In this lesson, we taught students how to draw hands. We taught students how hands should be drawn from different angles, and about the basic anatomy of a hand. Our lesson went over concepts such as sketching using basic shapes, how to blend, how to shade, and how to create highlights. Students followed along as the instructor gave step-by-step instructions on how to draw each feature. After teaching each feature, we gave feedback to each student on their drawing. Our second art class went very smoothly and we had around 40 participants!
