During the COVID-19 pandemic, many counties issued the “Stay at Home” order in hopes to slow down the spread of the virus. Senior citizens who live alone do not have any visitors. Because of this issue, MEDX Pharmacy in Pearland created the “We are here with you” project which encourages people to write a letter or create visual artwork to send to local senior citizens. They invited AYLUS Pearland to participate in this project. Although they were busy with online lessons and classes, AYLUS members actively engaged in this project. The participants’ ages range from five years old to 16 years old. They created artwork using different types of media, and they also wrote letters to share their unique experience during the pandemic. The letter and artwork sent to MEDX Pharmacy will soon be delivered to the Pearland senior community.
