San Diego Students Donated 3200 Books and 35 Boxes of Linens and Toys to Bridge of Hope on July 11, 2017

San Diego students of AYLUS collected 3200 books, 693 pieces of clean linens, clothes, toys, CDs, sport equipment, baseball gloves, kitchenware, and children games between May 1, 2017 to July 10, 2017. They donated all of the items to Bridge of Hope on July 11, 2017. The 3200 books were packed into 70 boxes and the lines and toys were packed into 35 boxes. It took 5 vans and 2 sedans to transport all the donated books and toys to Bridge of Hope.

Bridge of Hope San Diego is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families through transition,  such as families leaving homeless and domestic violence shelters or recovery homes, families facing crisis, and refugees relocating from around the world.

Each week, Bridge of Hope San Diego serves 300 refugees. Each refugee family is allowed to take 10 pieces of items. Hopefully, the donated books, toys, baseball gloves, linens and clothes will provide a beacon of hope and some comfort to families in San Diego that are going through transition.

The San Diego students have collected and donated a total of 7181 books to local schools and charities since June 2016.
