ON August 29, 2016, the AYLUS branches of Syosset High School participated in the school’s Freshmen orientation. The event was intended to introduce incoming 9th graders to the new environment of the high school. The AYLUS members took this as an opportunity to promote and recruit for their organization.
AYLUS participants included Sujoy Haldar and Fengkai Xu from the East Nassau branch, and Andy Yang and Seth Friedman from the North Shore branch. They hosted a table to give presentations about AYLUS and their sister club, Global Initiative Committee. Flyers were handed out to spread awareness about the group and the volunteer opportunities it has for new high schoolers. In addition to recruiting a few members, this event let more people know the organization and learn about what we do, which will enhance the upcoming year with productivity and fun!
