On Monday, August 17th, the AYLUS Roslyn Branch worked with the NOSH Delivers organization from 9 to 1 p.m. NOSH Delivers is a non-profit organization that helps families that are less fortunate than others get necessities like food and school supplies. We started the day off by cutting corn to allow it to fit inside milk crates. This allows the corn to get air and prevents it from rotting as fast. Two of the members from AYLUS went to cut egg cartons in half. Two others went to help in the farmers market. Then the other three went to cut beets. Once all this was done, we helped restock shelves and made more breakfast and lunch bags so that each family could get the food they liked. In the end, we all felt relieved knowing that we were able to help NOSH provide all these necessities for all the families less fortunate.
