Description of AYLUS Glen Head, New York Branch

The AYLUS Glen Head Branch is dedicated to enhancing the overall well-being of our community by encouraging youth volunteerism and engaging in a diverse range of activities especially through music, art and education. Through their participation in these activities, students not only have the opportunity to showcase their talents in music and the arts but also contribute to the betterment of our community while cultivating compassion, leadership skills, and communication abilities. We aim to provide an open platform, including necessary resources, to foster an environment where young volunteers in our area can both discover and develop their musical and artistic talents while simultaneously serving our community using their talents. 

Through the collective efforts of our volunteers, we will organize a variety of activities, including musical performances, art exhibitions, and educational programs, to enrich community life and also raise funds to support those in need within our community. 

Over the coming year, we plan to launch a series of initiatives designed to bring about tangible improvements in our community. These include: hosting concerts at senior care centers, holiday celebrations and “Music & Memories” themed events; collaborating with local libraries to offer free introductory music and art lessons for children; organizing music events in community parks. We also plan to partner with the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer to help raise funds for them to support children cancer research. 

All of our initiatives will actively encourage the participation of youth volunteers and are dedicated to championing and nurturing the participants’ musical and artistic creativity, as well as their compassion for community. By continuously expanding our team and strengthening our collaborative efforts, we aspire to collectively make a positive and profound impact on our community.
