This past week, Ryan had the meaningful opportunity to volunteer with Variety St. Louis, a wonderful local nonprofit dedicated to helping children and teens with physical or developmental disabilities redefine their abilities.
During the week, Ryan was paired with a 5-year-old camper with significant developmental needs. He helped support the camper throughout the day by assisting with daily routines, playing games, drawing together, participating in sports and water activities, and simply being a patient and caring companion. Through this experience, Ryan learned the importance of empathy, responsibility, patience, and one-on-one support for children with special needs.
Variety St. Louis is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all funds raised stay right here in St. Louis to support Variety Kids and their families. Ryan is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful program and to help create a joyful camp experience for a young child.
