Newtown Branch United Way 6/13

On Saturday, June 13th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, two members of the Newtown AYLUS Branch volunteered at United Way, an organization for helping individuals and families in need by providing essentials.

Our job was to help relocate bikes in their new HELP center from the first floor up to a storage room on the second floor. This process was very tedious, and took up the entire time we were there. There were bikes of every size, children sized bikes and adult sized bikes. However, some bikes were also in varying conditions such as a flat tire that made transporting the bike more difficult. The process of moving the bikes upstairs was streamlined with someone moving bikes out of the 1st floor room and to the stairwell, and others carrying the bikes up the stairs and organizing them by size in different sections of the store room. In the end, every single bike (~40 in total) was successfully moved up to the storage room.

Participating members included Daniel Tang (Event leader) and Randall Zhang.
