On November 15, 2025, the Murrieta members volunteered at the 20th Annual NAMI Walk at Diamond Valley Lake.
It happened to be an unusually heavy rainy day in Southern California. Despite the challenging weather, members got out of their warm beds early in the morning and headed to the event site. Upon arrival, while helping with the booth setup, the wind began to pick up and blew everything around — even the tents. Still, the members remained hopeful that participants would come out despite the stormy conditions. After about an hour, it was encouraging to see people begin to show up, and surprisingly, the registration line even started to grow quite long. Members helped with the check-in station and welcomed participants. When the walk began, several members joined the participants on the route. They walked alongside them, offering encouragement and helping guide the group through the designated path. At the turnaround point, members stood by to direct walkers, making sure everyone stayed on course. They also kept an eye on participants, ensuring that each person made it back safely despite the muddy ground.
What began as a stormy and uncertain morning turned into a meaningful day of the community support.
