The second session of the Summer Coding Academy 2026 was successfully held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at a Columbus public library. The free, in-person event provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their programming skills, explore computer science, and connect with other students who share an interest in coding.
The event featured small-class workshops with no more than six students per class, allowing instructors to provide individualized guidance and encourage active participation. Students participated in a variety of classes designed for different experience levels and interests, including Python with Turtle Graphics, Java Basics, AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP), and USACO Bronze preparation.
Through hands-on exercises, programming practice, and problem-solving activities, students developed foundational coding skills and gained experience applying programming concepts. The small-class format created a supportive and engaging learning environment where students could ask questions freely, receive personalized feedback, and build confidence in programming and computer science.
