AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers at Accessible Art program (4th) 11/17/25

AYLUS Great Neck Branch Volunteer Activity Record

On November 17, three AYLUS volunteers—Ting Lan Chen, Jolynnn Li, and Xinran Wang—led a perler bead craft session for students with special needs at the Accessible Art Program held at Great Neck House.

Centered around an autumn theme, students used perler beads to create various works, including bears, retro game consoles and stuff.Volunteers assisted with bead placement and heat-

During the activity, we guided students in creating artwork using small buttons and other materials. Some students designed trees with button leaves, while others made animals or abstract pieces inspired by autumn colors. After everyone finished, we combined the artworks into a large collaborative collage that highlighted imagination and personal style.

Volunteers assisted step by step—helping outline shapes, preparing materials, and encouraging students to explore their own ideas. The atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful; music played in the background as students and volunteers chatted and shared their thoughts while working.

Participants interacted socially during the activity, and each volunteer contributed 1.5 hours of service time.
