AYLUS Volunteers at the Belmont Walk to End Alzheimer’s 10/19/25

On Sunday, October 19th, Syosset AYLUS members visited the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event at Belmont Lake Park. As we wrap up the season for these walks on Long Island, Syosset is proud to be able to participate in a good cause. Hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, there are hundreds of walks available for everyone across the nation to participate in. Founded in 1989, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser for funds that go to caring for those who have Alzheimer’s, as well as funding for research. While the goal is to find a treatment, and ultimately, a cure, these walks are a great way for the local community to step in on the fight against this disease. Our volunteers started off the morning at 7:45, helping to set up the promise garden, different tents, and the children’s booth. At this walk, visitors can take a walk through the tents where our different sponsors show what they have to offer, drop off their kids at the activity station for a fun fall craft, or pick up a few treats for their furry friend! Volunteers tended to the children’s booth as well as the water station to ensure that all walkers stayed hydrated. Back at the main event, volunteers helped wrap up the venue as everyone was walking. Everyone helped clean up, marking a successful end to the season.
