On Saturday, July 12th, the Aylus Roslyn Branch volunteered at Nosh Delivers!, a food pantry dedicated to providing food to those in need.
We began by preparing the Farmer’s Market: stocking the shelves and assisting customers with their needs. Any leftover bread was discarded, and any empty shelves were restocked and consolidated. Afterwards, we began gathering volunteers to start packing NOSH bags, and were able to successfully pack 200 bags with plums, tuna, beans, and rice within an hour. The staff were very pleased, even saying, “I’ve been here for more than 6 months, and this is the fastest we’ve ever gotten through these bags.” After this, we completed a few chores around the place, such as taking out the trash, setting up tents for an outdoor event, and editing the NOSH meal bags for kids. Overall, the staff enjoyed our company, and we were able to end our experience with little to no work left, as we worked very efficiently.
