AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families Through NOSH Delivers! Food Pantry (87th) on July 11th, 2025

On Friday, July 11, from 9:00 A.M. to 1 P.M, members of the Aylus Roslyn Branch volunteered at NOSH Delivers. NOSH is a food pantry helping people who were affected by the pandemic by helping them with extra groceries and food.

Our first task was to help out in the farmer’s market. The farmer’s market is a place where families or people are able to acquire fresh groceries like fruits, dairy, bread, and vegetables. They included 2 bread, one dairy item, and many assorted fruits and vegetables. These groceries are handed out without charging anything.

After that, we helped in unloading trucks with fresh food. These trucks contained food like some assorted vegetables like lemon, melon, and onions. After sending many of these boxes and crates to the food pantry, we sorted these vegetables and fruits into crates and sent them to the farmers market or to the refrigerator.

After we finished with sorting the boxes, half of the group was sent to create NOSH bags for kids and the other half was to help sort the shelves. These NOSH bags are decorated brown bags that contain snacks, lunch, and a drink. These bags are meant to help struggling families that are unable to provide their children with nutritional meals for school. We decorated the bags with stickers, drew on them, and wrote little notes. The other half sorting shelves unpacked boxes to restock the missing items on the shelf.

Working with NOSH Deliveries we had a great experience to see how we can help the community with our actions. We would definitely come back to volunteer again from this experience.
