On September 3, 2023, the Sugar Land branch continued to maintain the Butterfly Garden at Memorial Park. Due to the heat wave and lack of rain, much of the park has dried out, including the garden’s major source: the lake. Members were not able to water much of the garden due to this lack and mainly focused on removing weeds and dried up plants from the garden to give the flowers more space to grow.
