Rancho Cucamonga Branch had an environmental volunteer at Diamond Valley Lake on 03/18/2023

On March 18th, 2023, 14 members of the AYLUS RC Branch gathered together for an environmental volunteer activity at Diamond Valley Lake. This time, we were especially pleased to welcome 6 new members to our group. Previously, many of our volunteer activities were geared towards larger community events, which required a higher age limit. As a result, younger volunteers didn’t have many opportunities to participate in volunteer activities. Therefore, we wanted to provide them with more suitable opportunities.

This year, Southern California has experienced a lot of rainfall, resulting in an abundance of blooming flowers throughout the region. This has led to an increase in visitors to the popular trails, which puts a strain on the local environment. We saw this as an opportunity to organize a volunteer activity and help preserve the natural beauty of the area. Each member participated in picking up litter, creating a cleaner and more enjoyable environment for visitors to enjoy the blooming flowers.

The children were able to take a break from their studies and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery. Additionally, they were able to meet new friends among the new members who joined our group. It was a great opportunity for everyone to work together towards a common goal, while also having a fun and enjoyable time.

Our group’s volunteer activity not only helped maintain the natural beauty of the area, but also provided a valuable opportunity for younger members to participate in volunteer activities. It was a great way to encourage the next generation to become more involved in environmental preservation efforts and foster a sense of community among our members.

Overall, the volunteer activity was a huge success, and we look forward to continuing to organize similar events in the future. We hope to inspire others to take action and do their part in protecting the environment for generations to come.

14 members participated in this volunteer activity, each of them served for 4 hours. Their names are: Yongxi Hu; Ryan Kan; Zixuan Wang; Eric Wang; Dexuan Wang; Ryan Wang; Yuxuan Liu;  Sarah Liu; Yangxuezhe Sun; Tommy Tang; William Kong; Xinran Zhang; Jeff Si; Oscar Si
