Rancho Cucamonga Branch attended Battle of the Books county event on 03/11/2023

On March 11th, 2023, the Etiwanda School District held a large-scale event called Battle of the Books at Summit Intermediate School’s gymnasium. Representatives from all the middle and elementary schools in the district came to participate in the competition. More than fifty volunteers were on site to help, and there were hundreds of students participating in the event.

Four of our members participated as volunteers in the event. Our task that day was to find the members of our participating teams, bring them into the competition area in the designated order, and guide them off the field after the competition was over. We were very busy that day because there were so many children participating in the competition.

The competition was very interesting, and only the most talented participants were able to advance to the next round. They had to read and understand all the books in the reading list, which was truly impressive. We were in awe of these young participants.

The Battle of the Books was an exciting event, and we were honored to be a part of it. The dedication of the students, teachers, and volunteers was truly inspiring. We hope to see even more students participating in this event in the future and continuing to develop their love for reading.

The names of the 5 members who participated in the event and each of whom did 5 hours of volunteer service are: Yongxi Hu; Yangxuezhe Sun; Zixuan Wang; Yuxuan Liu; Cindy Huang
