East Cobb Branch Partnered With Marietta Maker Station To Assemble Shield Mask II

On Jun 1st, 2020, East Cobb branch partnered with the local volunteer group The Maker Station @ Marietta to design, assemble and donate the much needed mask shields to the public service, front line health professionals and first responders. The Maker Station is a self-organized volunteer group which focuses on fostering technological innovation among the industrial design enthusiasts. They have been designing various mask shields and procured the corporate donations to launch the Atlanta Beats Covid (ABC) campaign.

ALYUS member Maxwell Jiang, Jay Pan, Katherine Sha, Kevin Shen work together to assemble over 300 various model shield masks. These masks followed the same principle of assembly, snap the transparent film over the protrusions on the frame. This task was exhausting on the hands as the film would require some force to put onto the frames. Sometimes the frame may have been incorrectly printed or some other defect would have appeared. In that scenario, the members would use tools to help work the film onto the frame.

Attendance:  Maxwell Jiang (3 hrs), Jay Pan (3 hrs), Katherine Sha (3 hrs), Kevin Shen (3 hrs)
