East Cobb Branch Partnered With Marietta Maker Station To Assemble Shield Mask I

On May 23, and May 30, 2020, East Cobb branch partnered with the local volunteer group The Maker Station @ Marietta to design, assemble and donate the much needed mask shields to the public service, front line health professionals and first responders. The Maker Station is a self-organized volunteer group which focuses on fostering technological innovation among the industrial design enthusiasts. They have been designing various mask shields and procured the corporate donations to launch the Atlanta Beats Covid (ABC) campaign.

ALYUS member Nicholas Vincent started volunteering with the group two weeks ago and found out that they had a stockpile they are willing to donate to the good cause in the community. Nick and his fellow members Max Jiang initiated the series of assemble line for the branch in summer. Their 1st goal is to assemble over 1,000 mask shields over a two -week period of time.

Besides assembling, we also clean, label, pack around 500 shield masks and make them ready to be delivered.

Attendance:  Maxwell Jiang (3 hrs), Nicholas Vincent (3 hrs)
