On May 10th, 2026, AYLUS Syosset organized its second volunteer-led community basketball event of the year at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park (11791). The morning began with one hour of basketball fundamentals training for participants of all ages, including dribbling, passing, and shooting drills, followed by a group photo at 10:00 AM. During the second hour, players aged six and above participated in organized scrimmage games, while younger children enjoyed free play nearby with parental supervision. The event continued AYLUS Syosset’s mission of encouraging outdoor activity, teamwork, and reduced screen time for local youth.
Also, the day is Mother’s Day, so we hold a special meeting for mothers.
The session was led by youth volunteers Gary (17), Rick (16), Keji (16), Danny (14), and Tony (12), who helped organize drills, supervise games, and maintain a positive environment throughout the morning. Participants included Dex (11), Leon (10), Simon (11), Vincent (11), Ian (9), Brian (11), Samuel (12), Felix (10), Zoran (11), Qiwen (7), Yitong (11), and Victor (8). Families from the Syosset community also supported the activity by accompanying younger children and helping maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
