On Saturday, October 4, 2025, five members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered at the Houston Public Library Warehouse from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
The volunteers first helped to sort books donated by various libraries or individuals into different groups, including “like new”, “gently used”, and “recycle”, based on their current conditions. The books in the “like new” and “gently used” groups were further organized based on certain genres, such as romance and fiction, and age groups, for a monthly book sale.
Volunteers also helped with the October book sale held at the warehouse. Some volunteers greeted customers and helped them find their desired books. Some volunteers reorganized books and restocked bookshelves after the sales.
Five volunteers participated in this AYLUS event: Justin Wang (5.5 hours), David Li, Hubert Tan, Vivienne Chen, and Calvin Dai (3.5 hours).
