On March 19, Shannon (president) led a group of members to work with One City Forest to help with their reservation. Due to the maintenance being a monthly event instead of weekly, there was lots of work to be done. While some members went to plant trees and bushes (that were used as canopy and forest floor restoration), others focused on watering old forestry and weeding. There was a particular type of weed that was extra prickly and difficult to remove that a special team of members had to take pitchforks and dig them out. Two members specifically recalled removing their gloves later on and finding many prickly thorns stuck in the fabric. The rest focused on removing extraneous weeds to improve the look of the reservation. A majority of these weeds were just overgrown grass that housed a multitude of ladybugs. Each ladybug was taken care of and put in a special sanctuary for the time being. The reservation is focused on regrowing a self-sustaining forest that will provide for future generations. Through this event, many members reflected how magnificent it was to uproot unwanted greenery, rehabilitate small insects, and just rebuild a damaged habitat regardless if they would be able to see results within their lifetime.
