Greater Princeton AYLUS Continues Education Help Program (74th) in November 2021

In November, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) students continued their Education Help Program. Although schools are restarting, some middle school students are still looking for tutoring classes to improve their academic skills in classes like math, science, or reading. Because of this, GPA is holding tutoring opportunities in core subjects.

GPA member Annie Miao (11/6, 2 hrs) tutored her students in math: This time, Annie and her tutee continued working on factoring perfect trinomials. She also explained why it was important to factor with finding the zeros of the functions.

GPA member Catherine tutored her student in math, and tutored another student in reading: I tutored my student in math on Monday (11/8) from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. This week, we started a new chapter involving fractions. We focused on Egyptian fractions, reviewing concepts like comparing fractions, LCM, and performing subtraction with fractions with different denominators. I tutored another student in math from 6:30 – 8:00 pm on Sunday (11/7). We reviewed basic arithmetic operations, adding numbers with an increasing amount of digits. As a whole, we focused on carrying digits over, as well as how to line digits up to perform addition

The program allows GPA members to provide reading, writing, speaking, communication, and more to their students across the country.
