On Saturday Oct. 10th from 8am to 11 am, AYLUS Pearland hosted a landscape project for Pearland’s Delores Fenwick Nature Center. Volunteers brought garden tools from home, including rakes, garden hoes, shovels, garden scoops, as well as used Keep Pearland Beautiful supplies. The project was to clean up and put mulch on the flower beds and trees beside and in front of the Nature Center building.
Volunteers first removed weeds from the flower beds, which had deep roots in the grounds, a crucial step before mulching. Then, a few volunteers shoveled mulch from trailer into wheelbarrows, while other volunteers transported mulch in wheelbarrows, and the rest spread mulch smoothly on the flower bed and around the trees.
20 volunteers participated the landscape work. Within 3 hours, a whole trailer of mulch was spread on the three big flower beds and trees near the Nature Center building.
Volunteers participated: Andy Gu, Matthew Li, Jayden Lu, Eric Qi, Andy Jiang, Thomas Liang, Junyan Chen, Jason Ren, Kevin Ren, Kate Liu, Sophia Fu, Ryan Tan, Karen Xu, Zian (Andy) Liang, Tianrui Cheng, Franklem Peng, Thomas Feng. Michael Meng, Nathan Nguyen, Jordan Ho, Sean Yu.
