AYLUS Art Committee Announced the 2019-2020 International Art Contest Winners on February 26, 2020

2019-2020 AYLUS International Art Contest-Winners Announced! 

The AYLUS International Art Contest hosted by the AYLUS Art Committee Chaired by Cassie Tammy Wang, President and Founder of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS, is one of the best events to encourage community service among students. It also brings out the creativity and artistic talent of young participants. 

Contest Details 

  • Contest Year: 2019-2020
  • Submit your favorite piece!
  • Submission Deadline: December 31st, 2019 (12:00 am EDT)
  • Grade Category: 4th-6th   7th-9th   10th-12th
  • Eligible Ability: All students in the grade categories above. Students from all countries are welcome. Younger students may enter (considered 4th graders).
  • Entry Fee: None

Contest Award

  • AYLUS selects work for recognition based on three criteria: originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal vision or voice.
  • First, Second, Third Places and Honorable Mentions in each grade category selected will receive certificates via email by March 2020
  • AYLUS will feature artworks of finalist and use them for future charity events.

Rules and Conditions

  • All media (pencils, crayons, pens, markers, paints, etc.) accepted.
  • They may use no photography pieces. No digital painting allowed. No three-dimensional entries.  Nothing may be glued, taped, stapled or attached to the artwork. Entries cannot be laminated.
  • Each student may submit only one entry, and each entry must be the original work of only one student.

Contest Summary

  • Within 3 months, in total 196 artwork received from United Kingdom, Canada, China, and 23 states of the USA: AZ, CA, CT, CO, GA, FL, IL, IN, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, UT, VA, and WA.
  • The themes of the artworks were broad, which included: Conflict and Adversity, Freedom and Social Change, Heroes and Leaders, Humans and the Environment, Identity, Immigration and Migration, besides Industry, Invention, and Progress.
  • In January 2020, the 196 art entries scored individually between 1 and 10. Top 20 winners for each grade category selected and announced. The winners come from United Kingdom, Canada, China, and 17 states of the US: AZ, CA, CT, CO, GA, FL, IL, MA, MD, MI, MN, NJ, NY, TX, UT, VA, and WA.
  • In February 2020, after the second round of voting, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places besides the Honorable Mentions for each category selected and announced with certificates provided.
  • Besides the certificate, each of the three 1st place winners received $100 award from the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA)!
