On November 9th, 2019, 12 members of East Cobb Young Musicians volunteered by playing music for 2 different senior centers, Alto and Arbor Terrace.
At Alto, 8 members played a variety of beautiful songs on different instruments, such as the violin, piano, and cello. The pieces were all joyful and uplifting, and brought happiness to everyone who heard them. Some seniors even went out of their way to tell performers how nice their performances were.
At Arbor Terrace, we were welcomed by a large crowd of seniors who were all very excited to hear us play. Many more musicians were able to make it to this session, and the elderly citizens were all moved when they heard the beautiful music. Once again, we had pianists, violinists, and cellists to play for them.
After the performances, all the musicians felt very happy because of all the compliments they received. All the senior citizens really enjoyed the music and talked to some of the musicians after they played to tell them how they felt. It was wonderful for old and new performers alike. Several of the performers today were younger today. We had a singer in fourth grade and two piano players in fifth and sixth grade. We also had a violin player in fifth grade. All four of them were overjoyed that the audience enjoyed their music.
