On Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, the AYLUS Roslyn branch volunteered at NOSH delivers. NOSH is a non profit organization that aims to improve the well being of the North Shore community by increasing access to food, as well as basic goods and services.
Upon arriving, our first task was to portion and place crackers into small bags. As we emptied the cardboard boxes the crackers came in, we made sure to break down and recycle those boxes. After completing this task, we then started sorting out different shelf stable items into categories. Throughout this entire process, we were able to efficiently work with other volunteers, making quick progress in organizing the items. The items that we categorized were then stocked onto the shelves. Afterwards, we started making NOSH bags! These bags consisted of different items like beans, rice, and vegetables. We made an assembly line to ensure smooth and quick making of the bags.
Volunteering at NOSH is such a fun experience that provides us with a new and unique perspective, showing us the importance of helping others and how powerful coming together as a community can be. We look forward to working with NOSH in the future.
