Since 2020, AYLUS Pearland has been a dedicated partner of Project Rise and Shine (PRS), receiving an annual grant from the Hogg Foundation to support the mental health of minority youth. As part of the grant requirements, AYLUS Pearland consistently submits expense reports, maintains detailed program lists with statistical data, and provides regular impact reports to PRS on the effects of their initiatives on youth and the broader community.
In May 2023, AYLUS Pearland’s role expanded to include supporting other PRS partners in meeting their reporting obligations. During April 2025, AYLUS volunteers also actively assisted with Project Rise and Shine’s routine management tasks. Their specific contributions included:
- Kara Li: Designed flyers for upcoming May events.
- Aila Jiang: Filed activity and expense reports, compiled a list of upcoming events, filed the PRS activity reports, and recorded audio presentation for an upcoming conference.
- Wyatt Yin, Anna Zheng, and Erick Gao: Posted reports on the LSA and PRS websites and sent out reminder emails.
- Yanqiao Huang, Roy Zheng, and Anna Zheng: Organized online tutorial sessions.
- Katherine Wu, Bruce Zhang, Will Wang, Yunlan Zhu, Abigail Zheng, Kenrick Xia, Anna Zheng: evaluated a teen mental health first aid training course, providing survey feedback on the instructor, course materials, and overall program effectiveness.
Through these efforts, AYLUS Pearland continues to play a vital role in advancing PRS’s mission and ensuring the success of its programs.
