The AYLUS Mclean Branch participated in a Library volunteering at Dolley Madison in August of 2024 to present time.
Volunteering at public libraries is a great opportunity for young people to give back to their community while gaining valuable skills and experiences. Volunteers cleaned while sorting toys and fidgets, assisted library staff with their work, such as setting up library service events, pulled books out that are on hold, and much more. This kind of service at public libraries is beneficial to all: students can use the quiet and accessible space to study, adults can finish work there, and kids can spend time gaining knowledge and having fun.
