On Saturday, April 5th of 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm EST, 3 members of the AYLUS Roslyn branch visited C.P. Nassau Group Home in Bethpage
C.P. Nassau has been supporting many individuals with disabilities for over 75 years and it provides various services including medical and primary care, therapy, education, and more. It also has group homes, similar to the Bethpage residential home we visited today.
We began the visit with some arts and crafts. Each resident got to choose what they wanted to draw and selected their favorite colors and stickers to decorate their artwork. Everyone was very engaged and proud of what they made.
After arts and crafts, we played a few fun games of Bingo. It was a big hit with the residents—there was lots of laughter and excitement every time someone got to shout “Bingo!”
We ended the visit with puzzles, which everyone enjoyed working on together. It was a calm and relaxing way to wrap up the afternoon, and it gave us all a chance to bond even more with the residents.
As always, each C.P. Nassau visit is meaningful and heartwarming. We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with the residents and bring smiles to their faces. We look forward to the next visit and continuing to build friendships through these shared moments.
