AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers at Kings Point Park (1st) 3/9/25

On the afternoon of March 9, 2025, members of Aylus participated in a garden maintenance activity at King Point Park. The main task was to evenly spread the stacked wood chips on the ground to improve the ecological environment of the park.

Before the event started, the park staff showed us how to cover the garden. The function of garden covering is to prevent weed growth, maintain soil moisture, and improve soil quality. Afterwards, we divided the work and cooperated. Some people were responsible for shoveling the wood chips to the area that needed to be covered, and some were responsible for flattening the wood chips with tools to ensure uniform coverage.

During the volunteer process, the volunteers felt the importance of teamwork and understood more that the work of park greening maintenance is not easy.
