Frisco and Plano Branch Volunteering at FMSC event on March 1st, 2025

On Saturday March 1st, 2025, four members of AYLUS and one parent participated in a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) packing session. The experience was relatively straightforward as FMSC had already prepared everything we needed, so our main task was simply to show up and follow instructions. We started the session in a large group alongside volunteers from other organizations, each of us eager to get started. A staff member briefly explained the rules and guidelines for the session, ensuring everyone was clear on the process. Afterward, we were divided into smaller groups and sent to our respective packing stations.

Before we began, we made sure to wash our hands thoroughly, maintaining the hygiene standards required for the event. Once we got to our station, the packing process was easy to follow and repetitive, which made it efficient and calming. We worked together as a team, filling bags with nutritious food to be sent to those in need. As the session wrapped up, we cleaned up our stations and gathered again with all the volunteers to go over the final numbers of boxes and bags packed. It was rewarding to see how much we had accomplished as a group.

Overall, the experience was peaceful and fulfilling. The small details had already been carefully organized by the FMSC team, so all we had to do was focus on the repetitive task at hand. It was an enjoyable and meaningful way to contribute to a cause while being part of a community effort.
Together with other volunteers, we packed 126 boxes which equates 27216 meals that can feed 74 kids for a year. We are very proud of what we achieved.
