On Saturday, July 20th, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, the Queens branch took part in the One Letter 4 All in which volunteers wrote letters to refugee kids around the world and to a youth detention center in Birmingham, Alabama. Everyone started by introducing themselves and answering a few ice-breaker questions. Then, everyone was taught how to write a letter and shown examples. Volunteers went on to create their letters, using the variety of materials provided by the One Letter 4 All team, including markers, crayons, decorative tapes, stickers, and more. Once all the letters were done, they were collected for sending at 3:00 PM.
The aim of One Letter 4 All is to host a series of letter writing workshops in NYC in order to unite communities together. The organization offers in-person volunteering opportunities that are open to anyone who wants to learn how to write letters for humanitarian causes. Those letters are then donated to various organizations and sent away. Everyone who participated indulged in a fun opportunity to spend time with friends and spread care to others in the world.
