AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers at Steppingstone Park (10th) 7/14/24

On Sunday, July 14th 2024, the members of AYLUS went to Steppingstone park to pick out weeds and help pick up trash. During the 2.5 hours, the productive members helped clean the flowerbeds and trees and were able to pick out a lot of weeds, along with keeping the park clean and making sure that the flowers and trees could thrive there. Along with picking out the weeds, some members were able to pick up trash left behind by other people, making sure that nature was not obstructed by it. The members showed determination and hard work, showing important values that will be deemed helpful in the future.

Using the tools that were provided, being a shovel, gloves and a black trash bag, the members were able to keep the park clean and learn a wonderful lesson about looking after nature and making sure that our local parks are pristine. Thanks to everyone’s hard work, Steppingstone Park was able to be clean again and is free of potentially harmful weeds and garbage. We hope that we are able to utilize our helpfulness in the future and are able to help strengthen other parks in order to preserve nature and the community around us.
