On December 2nd, a dedicated group of high school students—Jenny Wang, Vicky Zhao, Kaitlin Lian, and Charlotte Chen—along with middle school student Kevin Dong, showcased their culinary passion by participating in a volunteer event supporting a fundraiser for the Plano Children’s Medical Center.
The event kicked off at 10:30 AM as the five students gathered at the local boba tea shop, Heavenly Kup, renowned for its expertise in crafting delightful beverages. Under the direct tutelage of the shop owner, these enthusiastic students engaged in a two-hour session, mastering the art of preparing the popular “Tiger Milk Tea” and “Taiyaki,” both crowd favorites on the day’s menu.
Their active involvement and eagerness to learn during this event were remarkable. Not only did they acquire the skills to prepare the beloved “Tiger Milk Tea,” but they also took part in creating the renowned “Taiyaki,” a fish-shaped cake. The shop owner’s guidance was pivotal, complementing the students’ active participation and enhancing their learning process.
This activity served a dual purpose, allowing the students to gain valuable culinary insights while dedicating their efforts to support ongoing fundraising initiatives for the Children’s Medical Center. Their newfound expertise in preparing “Tiger Milk Tea” is anticipated to expand the menu options at the shop, directly contributing to fundraising endeavors for the hospital.
The students’ proactive approach and commitment to mastering these sought-after culinary skills align perfectly with the mission of AYLUS Frisco & Plano branch, which aims to support charitable causes. Their willingness to learn and contribute to such initiatives exemplifies their dedication to the community and their admirable spirit of philanthropy.
In summary, the active participation of Jenny Wang, Vicky Zhao, Kaitlin Lian, Charlotte Chen, and Kevin Dong in this workshop at Heavenly Kup not only broadened their skill set but also promises to augment the allure of fundraising activities for the Children’s Medical Center.
This report signifies the ongoing commitment of AYLUS Frisco & Plano branch and its members to meaningfully contribute to philanthropic causes while nurturing valuable skills and experiences among its participants.
