On August 28th, AYLUS Syosset President Alyssa Huang and PR Officer Jessica Albrecht jointly taught their 3rd art learning program. Members brought their own art supplies including paper, watercolors, brushes, markers, oil pastel and colored pencils to the program room (host: secretary Rachel Zhang). Teachers brought drawing books detailing the drawing processes of cars, animals, and people. Members welcomed a plethora of new students, teaching a total of six students ranging from ages 6-11. Teachers taught how to use reference images of the kids’ favorite animals, cartoon characters and foods. Students experimented with using alcohol markers, oil pastels, and colored pencils. The kids were able to exercise their creativity through their art.
Jessica taught half of the class how to draw from reality, using a dog as their reference.
Alyssa taught the other half of the class how to paint using watercolors and helped them learned new painting techniques.
