On July 17th, several members of the Frisco & Plano branch hosted a Zoom class to teach seniors basic English. Its purpose was so that they would be able to apply it to daily life. The volunteers helped instruct senior participants on how to pronounce phrases and on what they mean. There were a total of four seniors that attended this meeting. The phrases were taught based off of a curriculum, which included a google document with the phrases and their translations as well as a video with the pronunciations. For all the volunteers that decided to take time out of their schedule to better the community, we are very grateful. Teaching a new language takes no small amount of confidence or knowledge, and we hope that the members’ efforts were well received.
