21 May 2023
On Sunday, May 21st, members of the Roslyn AYLUS branch assisted at the School of Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island. This was the last class of the semester.
Class began with vocabulary review and practice with listening and speaking. As teacher assistants, we helped students with their work and made sure that students were caught up and remained on task. Afterwards, the students were assessed on their listening and reading skills. Teacher assistants helped check and grade their work to evaluate their levels of performance. Overall, it is our priority to monitor the safety of the students, provide guidance and support, establish boundaries and mutual respect, as well as abiding by policies and guidelines. As today was the last day of class, the students were particularly excited and energetic.
To mark the end of a great semester, students were thrilled to celebrate with their friends. Many students and parents brought in gifts and goodies for their classmates, as well as different food, drinks, and snacks to share. Students enjoyed playing games and interacting with new friends.
