Greater Princeton AYLUS Helps Easter Egg Hunting Event for Community Children (3rd) in April 2023

On April 8th, a day before Easter 2023, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) helped at Plainsboro Preserve’s The Great Eggsploration event.

GPA volunteers helped prepare thousands of colored eggs, toys, gifts, etc. in bags. Things to put in Easter Eggs include money (coins, bills, whatever…), rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, stickers, erasers, puzzle pieces (it will take a couple eggs, but when they find them all, they have a puzzle to put together).

The egg itself became a symbol of the Resurrection. Just as Jesus rose from the tomb, the egg symbolizes new life emerging from the eggshell. In the Orthodox tradition, eggs are painted red to symbolize the blood that Jesus shed on the cross. The egg-coloring tradition has continued even in modern secular nations.

GPA Volunteers (4/8): Max Chua (4 hrs), Mingze Feng (1.5 hrs), Andrew Chan (4 hrs), Richard Da (4 hrs), Amber Yu (1.5 hrs), Zhihan Zhang (1.5 hrs), Ziqi Zhang (1.5 hrs), Eric Li (3 hrs), Dylan Li (3 hrs), Steven Li (4 hrs), Jeffrey Jiang (4 hrs), and more.
