In January 2023, members Shannon Guo, Willow Hsu, and others, worked with Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful to clean up trash along different highways. They learnt through volunteers about the different hazardous things thrown from cars in highways, how car accidents lead to the distribution of many hazardous wastes. They also learned about trash tents and how to unearth them. Trash tents are when waste is wrapped in tarp or cloth and buried under layers of soil (like a makeshift landfill but illegal). There were also piles of cement and bricks that were presumed to be from old homes and pieces of the road.
