SUMMARY

On January 14, 2023, members of AYLUS Puget Sound finished the final session of the
2023 AMC 8 Prep course! Classes have run weekly throughout the past four months each
Saturday from 5:00 PM through 6:00 PM PST.

Our 2023 AMC 8 Prep course was taught by instructors Christina Liu and Jeffrey Zhao. The
instructors teamed up to compile past contests, write solutions, and create mock contests. In
the past few weeks, we have covered selected problems from the 2017 to 2022 AMC 8 exams each class and written a mock AMC 8 contest.
Approximately 20-30 students attended class each week.

HOURS SUMMARY

Jeffrey Zhao taught solutions to the 2018 AMC 8 for 1 hr on Saturday, November 19th,
2022. He spent 1.5 hrs before class to prepare notes. Christina Liu was present as a TA,
answering questions for 1 hr. After class, both answered questions over email, uploaded
recordings, and sent class announcements for 1 hr.

Christina Liu and Jeffrey Zhao met on November 30th, 2022 to discuss the future class schedule, logistics for the final class, and teaching strategies for 3 hrs.

Christina Liu taught solutions to the 2019 AMC 8 for 1 hr on Saturday, December 3rd,
2022. She spent 1.5 hrs before class to prepare notes. Jeffrey Zhao was present as a TA,
answering questions for 1 hr. After class, both answered questions over email, uploaded
recordings, and sent class announcements for 1 hr.

Christina Liu taught solutions to the 2020 AMC 8 for 1 hr on Saturday, December 10th,
2022. She spent 1.5 hrs before class to prepare notes. Jeffrey Zhao was present as a TA,
answering questions for 1 hr. After class, both answered questions over email, uploaded
recordings, and sent class announcements for 1 hr.

Christina Liu and Jeffrey Zhao spent 6 hrs for creating an AMC 8 mock exam and
preparing full solutions on Saturday, December 31st.

Jeffrey Zhao taught solutions to the 2022 AMC 8 for 1 hr on Saturday, January 7th,
2023. He spent 1.5 hrs before class to prepare notes. Christina Liu was present as a TA,
answering questions for 1 hr. After class, both answered questions over email, uploaded
recordings, and sent class announcements for 1 hr.

Christina Liu and Jeffrey Zhao spent 1hr proctoring an AYLUS AMC 8 mock test. After class, both answered questions over email for 2hrs.

In total, Christina Liu logged 23 hrs, and Jeffrey Zhao logged 23 hrs.
