AYLUS Frisco & Plano Branch make Chinese New Year greeting cards, paper lanterns for Plano Pioneer Place Senior Housing on Jan 20,2023

Reported by Jenny Wang

In the week before Chinese New Year, many members of Frisco & Plano branch worked on making Chinese New Year “Rabbit” themed greeting cards, lanterns for our senior citizens at Plano Pioneer Place Senior Housing on Jan 20,2023.

Chinese New Year(also known as Lunar new year) is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar. It was traditionally a time to honor deities and ancestors, removing bad and the old, and it has also become a time to feast and visit senior family members. Our branch members spent their time on making many creative Chinese New Year paper lanterns and New Year cards. They had beautiful Chinese style artwork paired with well wishes written in Chinese.  They hope these gifts can bring Chinese New Year culture as well as happiness to the local communities. The advisor sent the gifts to the senior housing due to the members are still at school during their normal business hours.

Jenny Wang  sent emails & communication with local senior housing apartments, leading the event and setting up time visiting and made New Year Cards – 5 hours
