Greater Princeton AYLUS Volunteers at Forest Restoration Events (27th) on August 13th, 2022

On August 13h, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) conservation team joined the communities again for the Forest Restoration events, watering the flowers planted last month at the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve in Princeton.

Volunteers worked under the guidance of FOPOS’ Natural Resources and Stewardship Director, Anna Corichi, on various tasks such as invasive species management, plant care, and caging young trees to protect from deer browse within the restoration project areas at the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve.

Restore the Lakeshore! Volunteers worked under the guidance of FOPOS stewardship staff to identify and remove an invasive species from riparian restoration project areas at the Preserve. Hand tools (loppers, pruners, and saws) will ‌remove target species such as buning bush (Euonymus alatus), honeysuckle (Lonicera spp.), photinia villosa and rosa multliflora. Join us this weekend to learn more!
